Self -concept

what is self- concept?

Your self-concept is the internal image you believe that you are; your identity, your worth, and what you believe is possible for you. It’s the sum of the events, traumas, and life experiences you have up to this point in your life.

  1. Who you are

  2. What you deserve

  3. What’s possible to experience

Spiritually, your self-concept is the energetic signal you carry. It’s how your subconscious mind translates your sense of “I AM” into your life. Whatever you consistently identify with eventually shapes the circumstances you live in.

why self- concept is tied to the SUBCONSCIOUS mind

The subconscious mind is rooted in your being. Whatever is rooted in the subconscious… (beliefs, behavior patterns, and what you repeatedly say out loud ) are deep and anchored eventually grow into your lived reality.

  1. The subconscious does not distinguish between “true” or “false.” It simply accepts repeated impressions and whatever you believe to be true.

  2. Old conditioning and limiting beliefs live here, but so does your power to rewrite the past traumas, events, and life experiences .

  3. Reprogramming happens through consistent alignment practices: meditation, affirmations, visualization, journaling, and aligned action.

the alignment practice

Reprograming the subconscious mind is most important step to attaining your desired reality and manifesting everything you want in this life. You struggle with this because of how long you have been the same person. It can feel frustrating because it takes time , I refer to this part of changing self to literally being in the “trenches” . You have to give yourself grace through this process , you cannot bypass this step in your journey ; it is crucial.

Remember you have been the same person far longer than you have been trying to implement true change. You will have bad days and feel like it’s not working, but trust me … it is.

  1. Be very clear about your new identity , its very important to be detailed and exact. ( write a list of every aspect of your new identity) exampledaily routine, what do you wear, where do you live, what foods, do you eat, what do you do for a living, how do you feel.

  2. What do I no longer tolerate; what you no longer tolerate from yourself and others in your life ?

  3. example: I will no longer explain myself when I say no, I will no longer make excuses for not taking care of my body, I will no longer let the opinions of others change my views about myself

  4. What do I believe about myself ?

example: I am enough as I am , I have nothing to prove to the world, I am a wonderful person, I am abundant in all areas of my life

  5. Combine everything you wrote in this exercise and write a letter to yourself. Use this as a declaration to yourself , a promise to yourself that you are embodying this self identity . Read it every morning , do not skip a day.

  6. Sit in meditation visualize this new you, create scenes in your head with intense feeling. Until you feel the emotional charge ; it’s most important to feel into your new identity.

your essence

With every unreal aspect of yourself stripped away, only essence remains. Once you realize that essence is the real you , the golden door opens. Essence is precious because it the stuff from which the soul is made of. If you could keep holding on to the essence while stepping back into the picture you create, you would be living from the level of the soul at every moment. -DEEPAK CHOPRA
