The Medicine man
The psyche doesn’t speak in language, it speaks in symbols, dreams, meaning in things you can’t put into context. To “know thyself” is a sacred quote echoed thousands of years in many ancient texts regardless of the spiritual practice. The initiation to “know thyself” is by simply asking. You can ask gently in meditation, pray to God, or scream it to the mountain tops …. “I want to know who I am “
The Medicine Man isn’t a yearly Doctor checkup; he’s the inner capacity to interpret the psyche: dreams, symbols, the subconscious and the superconscious, the strange holy language the soul speaks when the initiation process digs roots. My own awakening came like a dream: a younger version of me, malnourished and impossibly strong; she pinned me down with no escape, as if to say, you don’t get to leave your body to find God; you must meet God inside your body. Then came the blinding light, the in-between realms, the rush of symbols I couldn’t translate with my human vocabulary . What was being downloaded in my consciousness felt like the capacity to hold reverence for what I was becoming and what I was no longer conscious of being.
I’ve integrated my “Medicine Man” archetype ;the part of me that no longer searches outside itself for peace, joy, or direction. Revelation comes after initiation. The longing is the hardware and the capacity to hold truth is the software.
Initiation lives at the threshold, where you’re asked to trust without proof. You don’t get the map first; you get the nudge, the longing, the quiet inner yes, and then life watches to see if you take heed. Once you surrender to that energy inside of you it expands from, fear, trust, guided action, to open doors to remain on the path. That’s how self-trust builds; proof doesn’t arrive to convince you first; it arrives after you move in alignment. You take one step; you get one sign. You take another step; you get another thread of clarity. Little by little, the path begins to reveal your next season, your next phase of purpose; with real-world evidence that you weren’t crazy, you weren’t imagining it, and you weren’t suffering for nothing. The Medicine Man doesn’t promise a painless journey. He promises that meaning is real and that your life will start reflecting it as soon as you stop living behind the mask.
Freedom isn’t earned its remembered
pain isn’t to avoid; it’s a tool to bring you into alignment
If you drown pain, you drown desire
then life becomes a wasteland of potential
those who see beneath the surface can translate the clues
the Universe has never stopped speaking to you
signs, synchronicities, symbols, and patterns are the languages … only the soul can decode
love the journey because it involves
being more
doing less
less forcing
more knowing
you were always free
